Karlene Voepel's Artspan Blog

A few months ago I attended my first Renaissance Fair in Phoenix.  What a magical experience!  And, what an inspiration for a series of new paintings!  I am presently working on the second oil pastel on watercolor paper.  This is not an easy medium as mistakes are hard to correct.  Some you just have to live with.  These first two paintings have to do with a certain crystal ball.  They almost look like illustrations for a story that doesn't exist.  Or at least, not yet.  I will start showing you the paintings as soon as they, and I am ready.   (Is this how you write a blog??? I'm not experienced in these matters.)
